Cleanse the beacon, then ride the lift down
Hold interact at the beacon to cleanse it. From there, move on to a temple hewn from bone. In the round hall, the Muradean Actuator waits at the center; the forge will want it for upgrades later, so it stays with you. A note lies a little further in. Step on the square button in the middle of the lift and ride down into the dungeon.
Overgrown Temple
At the altar, read the hint about enemy weaknesses; the game tells you here what the locals are soft to. Ahead stand enemies hiding behind wooden shields. A heavy attack punches through the guard. Or circle behind them, where the shield does not reach, and hit with a normal strike.
Further in waits a large enemy who throws rocks. His aim is generous: the stones clip his allies as happily as they clip you, so a little positioning turns him into area denial against his own side. Up close he slams his rock into the ground 3 times in a row. Back off while the flurry runs and start your own swing during his 3rd slam; it lands just as he finishes.
Kill another pair of shield-bearers past him, then press the button on the wall behind them. The gate opens at your back. Cleanse the beacon, but do not head out yet: the room next door holds a Ventrium. Take it, then use the beacon to return to the surface quickly. Clearing the temple pays out a Glimpse on top.
The Weltcap and its two slots
From the save point, go left. The stone barrier that used to seal that way is gone now, and a Weltcap sits behind it: a consumable that restocks whenever you visit a beacon. Two ways to use it. In the quick slot it is one slow health restore per charge. In the right-hand passive slot it heals you automatically, but only up to a 20% health threshold.
The fork past the crossbowman
Right of the save point, a crossbowman stands in the open and a swordsman waits around the corner; both die the usual way. Past them the road forks.
- Left and up: kill the soldiers where the upper path drops to the lower one, pick up the Common Moonshine in front of the water wheel, then jump down into the lake.
- Right and down: the ground sinks into a swamp patrolled by several crawling monsters. A Tarspore grows here; it cures poison and grants poison resistance, so pocket one before the bog does its work. A little further on, another Weltcap.
One habit worth forming right here: collect several copies of the same consumable and they upgrade.
Miniboss: Gloombound Ritualist
Either branch of the fork ends on the same shallow swamp. The thing waiting there is a tall zealot with a torch-headed staff, and he did not come alone.
The gorge: 150 Coin and a Laterite
After the win, walk forward to the railing at the water and pick up 150 Coin. Take the gorge on the left and clear the 3 soldiers and 1 rock-thrower in it. Right of the campfire lies more Common Moonshine. By the rocks ahead, read the note, then skirt around the rocks to the left for a Laterite.
The bridge: shooters first, spearman last
The bridge ahead is held by 2 crossbowmen, 1 swordsman and 1 spearman. Rush the shooters before they notice you, then the swordsman. The spearman is a different weight class: sweeps and long thrusts in front of him. Close the distance fast and hit first rather than trading blows at his preferred range.
Miniboss: Tainted Vestige (secret under the bridge)
At the far end of the bridge, a breach in the floor drops into a secret room below. What lives there kills in one hit.
Back on the main path, the cave holds 2 flying monsters. A little beyond them stands the next beacon, and the Village Outskirts are done.
